What We Believe
Welcome
You may be one of the millions of people who have embarked on their own spiritual path. If so, you have just discovered a whole community of people like yourself. It is Unity – a spiritual movement that honors all paths to God; sees God as good and everywhere present; and affirms the spark of Divinity in all of us.
Unity also offers a positive, practical, progressive approach to Christianity, regarding Jesus as the great example of living life in connection with God.
Unity interprets the Bible metaphysically rather than literally. Have you ever imagined that the Bible could be the story of your own life? It is just one of the tools available for powerful personal transformation.

What are Unity's basic teachings?
There are no creeds, doctrines, or dogmas in Unity. We recognize that everyone is on his or her own path of spiritual discovery, and we trust that a loving God is guiding each person's life journey.
At the same time, we do have several statements that seem to sum up the Unity approach for many. A favorite one is: "It's all good!" We seek to find the good, to find God in every situation, no matter how difficult.
We encourage people to explore and apply Unity teachings based on their own spiritual understanding. We believe that our spiritual understanding is enhanced through reflective prayer and meditation.

The five basic ideas that make up the Unity belief system are:
- God is good and everywhere present.
- The spirit of God lives within each person, therefore, all people are inherently good.
- We create our life experiences through our way of thinking.
- There is power in affirmative prayer, which we believe increases our connection to God.
- Knowledge of these spiritual principles is not enough, we must live them.
Our Basic Affirmation
At the start of every Sunday service, we say
There is but One Presence and One Power in the Universe and in my life: God, the good, omnipotent.
At the end of each service we say
The light of God surrounds us;
The love of God enfolds us;
The power of God protects us;
The presence of God watches over us;(some say, is deep within us)
Wherever we are, God is
The love of God enfolds us;
The power of God protects us;
The presence of God watches over us;(some say, is deep within us)
Wherever we are, God is
And all is well.
